The FACE Christmas Fair is traditionally held on the 1st Saturday in December at the Edinburgh Cancer Centre, Western General Hospital.
The Fair is a mix of stalls, games, refreshments and entertainment. The stalls are aimed at young and old, with items on sale made by the Friends of FACE or donated by supporters of FACE. All proceeds of the Fair go to FACE.
There are games for all the family and the winning Christmas Raffle tickets are drawn on the day.
There is festive music through the day and an area set aside so you can relax over a cup of coffee and filled roll.
Entry to the Fair is free.
This year marks the 26th time that FACE has taken a group of children over to Lapland to meet Santa.
These children have been impacted directly or indirectly by cancer. The team at FACE, led by John Macaulay, look after the children and help make it a wonderful experience for them.
The trip involves a very early morning flight and a return flight in the late evening. The FACE team is a mix of those medically trained to look after the children, and others who are there to make it a special day for them. The children can spend time with husky dogs & reindeer, play in the deep snow and meeting Santa Claus is magical. On some trips the team have been lucky to see the Northern Lights.
FACE receive so much positive feedback for this trip and many of the fundraising events held through the year are aimed to help FACE make sure the trip each year continues.
