It was a very busy weekend for the FACE team with the Christmas Fair on Saturday 7th December and Lapland Trip on Sunday 8th December.
The Fair was once again a great success. It is an enjoyable day that brings friends of FACE together and is a chance to catch up with folk who have been involved with FACE over the years. At the same an amazing £14,000 was raised to help FACE continue to fund projects that make a difference for patients and families affected by cancer.
This year everyone saw first-hand where FACE has helped, as we made use of the wonderful new furniture in Outpatients. We also linked in with the Zero Waste initiative to make sure we made best use of the items kindly donated to FACE that are left at the end, whether recycled or sold to raise funds for another good cause. We also left the books on site so that patients and visitors can buy them, raising funds for FACE.
A huge thanks to everyone involved in the preparation and dismantling of the Fair, those who helped on the day, those who created & donated. So much hard work and time goes into making it happen. Folk travel in from all parts of Scotland to be there. Over 70 people help look after the stalls – young and old. We really appreciate the continued support of Police Scotland and the Fire Service who come along to entertain and educate. We receive great support from hospital staff behind the scenes, helping us tidy up and with resolving any logistical issues.
A date for your diary for our next fair will be on Saturday 5th December 2019. We look forward to seeing you then.
